Interlibrary loan is intended to meet the research needs of students, faculty, and staff that cannot be met by library holdings. Requests should be limited to academic resources and submitted only after all JBU Library resources have been exhausted.
The following borrowing limits apply:
Requests filled in excess of the set limit will have a $4.00 ILL fee charged.
Note: Exceptions to this limit may be made for capstone projects or master thesis. The additional use of ILL resources must be approved by the student’s advisor and the interlibrary loan librarian.
Large number of requests submitted at one time may result in delayed processing. Be sure to prioritize requests.
ILL service is provided to JBU students, faculty, and staff at no cost. The library covers the costs involved in borrowing the item, so we just ask that you make sure to download or pick up your ILL items so that the time and expense invested in getting them for you is not in vain.
Very rarely the cost of borrowing an item may exceed our budgeted allowance. If this occurs, you will be contacted to see if you are willing to pay for an item. We will not borrow items that involve a cost to you without your prior approval.
For patrons who are not students or employees of JBU, there is a $4 fee per request. If you have a General Patron library card and need interlibrary loan service, please contact the ILL librarian (ill@jbu.edu; 479-524-7276).
The following fines and fees may be charged to your student or departmental account:
