How to borrow resources from other libraries.

Registering for an Interlibrary Loan Account

If you are a current student, faculty, or staff member you can log in to ILLiad using your JBU user name and password. You may be asked to fill in some additional information if it is your first time logging in. 

If you are a General Patron, go to the First Time ILLiad User page. Click the button at the bottom of the page and complete the form.

Submitting a Request

Most JBU Library databases have Request by Interlibrary Loan links for items that are not available in full text. Click the link, log in to ILLiad, and complete the form as needed. Most citation information should be automatically inserted. Review the form and make any necessary corrections amd click on Submit.

You can also fill in a request form manually by logging in to ILLiad and entering citation information through the New Request form.

Viewing and Downloading Electronic Articles

When an article you have requested arrives, you will be notified by email (ill@jbu.edu). This email provides instructions for logging in and viewing your article. Log into ILLiad. Your article will be listed under Electronically Received Articles. Click on the Details button or the article title to view your article.

NOTE: Download your article to your personal storage. Documents are only available for 30 days. After 30 days they are deleted from the server. Duplicate requests for the same item will be charged $4.00 per item.
