Tips for Searching for eBooks

You will get more precise results with fewer broken links if you search for ebooks directly in the two major ebook collections instead of using the "Quick Search" on the Library homepage.

You can use the "Subject" filters in the results sidebar to narrow down your results.

The full text of ebooks can be accessed and searched directly in your web browser. For information about options for downloading ebooks, see the Reading and Downloading eBooks Guide.

Interlibrary Loan

If the JBU Library does not have full text access to a journal article or other resource, you may see a link in the database that says Request Interlibrary Loan. If you need an article that we can't provide immediately, we will try to find another library that has it that will provide it for you to use.

A few things you should know about interlibrary loan (ILL):

  • ILL requests typically take 2-4 business days for articles and 1-2 weeks for books, although the exact time varies depending on the lending library.
  • ILL requests are processed by a human, not a robot, during normal business hours, so requests placed on weekends and holidays may take a few extra days to be filled.

For more information about ILL at JBU, visit our ILL guide or watch the video below.
