What's New for 2024-2025

Book Locations

The books surrounding the stairs at the entrance to the second floor have been moved to the far side of the floor, near the windows. The diagram below shows the new configuration of books on the second floor.Floor plan showing location of books.

Preparations for LRC Renovation

Project 2 of the LRC Renovation is scheduled to begin in May 2025 after graduation. During the 2024–2025 school year, you may encounter library staff moving books or furniture as we prepare to move into our temporary space for fall 2025. For more information about the renovation, see the link below.

Book Holds

Faculty and staff may now place holds on books that are checked in as well as books that are checked out. If the book is checked out, the person with a hold will be notified when the book is returned so that they can check it out next. If the book is checked in, it will be retrieved from the shelf within one day and held at the circulation desk to be picked up. Holds expire and will be returned to the shelf after one week.

Students may place holds on books that are checked out but should come in person to retrieve books that are checked in from the shelves. Circulation staff are happy to help you locate the book you need.

Holds are not available on Reserve or Reference materials.

To place a hold, login to the library catalog, search for the item you require, and use the Place hold link.

Periodical Donation to the Internet Archive

Over the summer, the library deaccessioned over 12,000 volumes of print periodicals and donated them to the Internet Archive for long-term perservation and digitization. This project allowed us to reclaim valuable space from the storage of rarely-used publications in order to better support student learning, while ensuring that these volumes ultimately remain available to researchers, either through the Internet Archive's website (as copyright restrictions allow) or through interlibrary loan.
