Services for Students in Isolation/Quarantine

Introduction

The library is committed to providing access to academic resources for all students, including anyone who may need to go home for COVID isolation or quarantine. Please reach out to us by email, phone, or chat to let us know what you need to complete your assignments and we'll work with you to make sure we can get you what you need.

If you are required to isolate or quarantine due to COVID exposure or infection, please do not visit the library to acquire the materials you may need for your studies while you are away. See the information below for instructions on how to access library materials and services.

Students who are temporarily off campus are eligible for all of the same services available to students in online programs or studying at Rogers or Little Rock. See our Distance Student Services page for more details.

Checked Out Materials

If you already have library materials checked out, please do not return them until after you come back from quarantine/isolation. You can renew your materials by logging in to your library account following the instructions here. If you cannot renew an item because you’ve reached the limit or there’s a hold on the item, email us at Library@jbu.edu and we’ll take care of it for you. No fines or registration holds will be levied. If you have an interlibrary loan book that has a due date before your quarantine/isolation period ends, please let the ILL librarian know at ILL@jbu.edu.

Books by Mail/Third Party Pick Up

In extenuating circumstances, we can arrange to send books through the postal service or set them aside for your designated proxy to come pick up on your behalf. Contact us at Library@jbu.edu or (479) 524-7202 if you are going to be away from campus for an extended period and still need to borrow books we only have in print. Please be aware that postal service delays may mean it will take up to several weeks for a book to arrive, so you may find that digital document delivery or waiting until you can return to campus will better meet your needs. If you are sending someone to pick up books for you, please let us know the name and contact information of the person who has permission to check out books on your behalf at least one business day in advance.
