Fees and Fines
- Materials are considered lost when they are unreturned for an extended time past their due date. Lost or damaged materials are billed for replacement cost + processing fee. Replacement charges are nonrefundable after the charge has been forwarded to the business office for collection. Lost or damaged ILL materials are billed according to the rate set by the owning library. Patrons with unpaid replacement charges may be subject to suspension of borrowing privileges and/or registration/transcript holds.
- Overdue fines are assessed for the following categories:
- ILL books ($1/day)
- Reserve books ($1/hour)
- Books that have been recalled ($1/day)
- DVDs and games ($1/day)
- Interlibrary loan service fees may be assessed in the following circumstances:
- $4 for items ordered but never picked up.
- $4 to reorder an item that has been previously delivered.
- $4 for filled requests in excess of the user’s per-semester limit. (Waivers of the limit may be requested on a case-by-case basis for special research projects; contact the ILL librarian for details.)
- $4 service fee for each filled request for General Patrons (borrowers who are not current JBU students or employees).
