Logging in to JBU Resources

Logging in to Journal Databases

The most commonly used resource is the library's electronic journal collection which is available through multiple database vendors such as ProQuest, EBSCO, JSTOR and others. In order to access these resources from off campus, you must use links provided on the library website. These links go through our EZproxy server which, when you sign in, identifies you as a JBU student or faculty member. If you attempt to go directly to a vendor (even if JBU has a subscription) you may encounter a login prompt that doesn't work, or you may be asked to pay for access.

The following are differences in links:

JBU EZproxy Link

                Green Check Mark              https://login.ezproxy.jbu.edu/login?url=http://www.jstor.org/search/

Your web browser is directed through our proxy server. You are asked to log in with your JBU credentials.

EZproxy log in page.

Once logged in you have access as granted by JBU library subscriptions.

Note: Databases on the EBSCO platform (URL begins with https://research.ebsco.com) will not necessarily have the EZproxy prefix as part of the web address, but as long as you navigated to them using the links from the JBU library website, you should still be directed to our login page.

Direct Link

                              http://www.jstor.org/search/

It will appear that you have access, but as soon as you attempt to view an article you will be asked to log in or to purchase the article.

Do not purchase access. Go to the JBU Library and use linked resources to access databases.
